Abstract: Using simulation software is an effective and safe solution in research and teaching. To contribute for diversify applying software in teaching and learning, the author introduced kinematic simulation mechanical structure with CATIA V5. In this paper, the author figured out the positive points of CATIA in comparison to other software used for engineers and designers and the application of CATIA software to design, assembly, and kinematic simulation of the piston - connecting rod - crankshaft system in star shape engine - 05 pistons. This paper can be applied for developing electronic lecture
