Abstract: This paper is aimed to apply competency-based development in teaching and learning methods in modern Vietnamese short stories in the current high school literature. The process of the teaching and learning includes pre-teaching preparation, conducting teaching in class, and post-teaching assessment. In which, the teaching in class need to apply the teaching method actively, flexibly, and creatively.
