Abstract: The study was conducted to build an organic rice production model on the Rice - Shrimp cultivation area in Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province in a sustainable way. This field experiments were arranged on Rice - Shrimp soil of 3 fields at My An commune and 3 fields at An Dien commune, Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province. This field experiments were completely randomized, including: 9 treatments x 3 replications. The demonstration model of organic rice was carried out on the land of 20 farmers, with a total area of 20 ha in three communes of My An, An Dien and Thanh Phong. The results of the study analyzed 19 soil samples, 8 water samples representing 100 ha of organic rice soil with indicators of heavy metals in soil and water (Hg, As, Cd, Zn, Cu, Cr) which were undetectable or not found. Natural fertility in Shrimp - Rice soil is very high. The field experiment showed that the amount from 700 - 1.200kg/ha of Saigon Me Kong 35 organic and Nha nong organic showed no statistical difference compared to the treatment of 400kg/ha (Lio Thai Gold organic) and inorganic model (60 N-30 K2O-30 P2O5). The demonstration model of organic rice production (400 kg/ha Lio Thai Gold) and organic non-mineral (1,000 kg/ha Saigon Me Kong 35 organic) productivity was not different from the traditional inorganic rice production model. Organic rice yield ranges from 3.0 to 6.0 tons/ha, averaging 4.4 tons/ha. The prices of organic rice having 1.17 times and 1.29 times is higher than inorganic rice, the organic mineral fertilizer model profit is higher than VND 2,37 million/ha, equivalent to 16.6% and VND 2,55 million/ha equivalent to 17.9% for non-mineral organic models. In addition to the mutual profit from the aquaculture and natural exploitation activities, the increased aquatic products have not been considered.
